Terms
What you're buying. A temporary position at #1 on THE LIST, a public ranking with no meaning. Your chosen display name appears at #1 until someone else pays the current price, at which point you move down. There is no prize, reward, benefit, or anything else of value.
What position means. Nothing. Position does not represent merit, quality, popularity, endorsement or achievement.
Who can play. You must be 18 or over. THE LIST is currently available to customers in the UK paying with a UK-issued card. Payments from cards issued elsewhere are refunded in full automatically and don't take #1.
Pricing. The price shown is the minimum to take #1. You can choose to pay more; whatever you pay becomes the new base price. After each takeover the price starts 0.5% above what was paid and falls by 2% per hour while nobody buys, never below £1. The amount you pay is the one shown on the payment page, which is fixed when you continue to payment.
Carbon removal. 50% of every takeover funds permanent carbon removal, paid automatically through Stripe Climate. Buying a takeover doesn't give you any claim to the carbon removal or any certificate.
If someone beats you to it. If another person's payment for the same price is confirmed first, your payment is refunded in full automatically.
Cancellation. Your position is supplied immediately after payment. By ticking the box at checkout you agree to this and acknowledge you lose your 14-day right to cancel once it has been supplied. This doesn't affect your other statutory rights.
Names. Display names must not be offensive, impersonate anyone, or contain links or advertising. We may remove or change any name, or remove an entry, at our discretion. Removed entries are not refunded unless we decide otherwise. We may ban emails and pause purchases at any time.
Your email. Used only to tell you about your position (e.g. when you're dethroned) and about your payment. It is never shown publicly or sold. Payments are processed by Stripe. See our privacy policy.
Who we are. THE LIST is operated by Methodis Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16830157). Registered office: Suite A, James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE.
